Since the Roman time, we have descriptions and vestiges of lime kilns. The “Calcis Cottores” (Lime burners) guild, in force at Rome, had already studied the shape and the function of the lime kiln named “fornax calcaria”. From that time, chemistry & technology of lime and limestone have progressively evolved although most of the progress has occurred since 1900, with the greatest step forward since 1955.
Besides burned lime (or quicklime), hydrated (or slaked) lime is the second major product of the lime industry. As many of the newer applications require top hydrate qualities, manufactured under strictly controlled conditions, Cimprogetti has developed a comprehensive range of equipment and plants to meet even the most demanding requirements in the market.
Lime is employed by a wide range of industries for a myriad of applications. Lime is the only material that can perform so many functions at so reasonable a cost.
USGS most recent analysis on the fluctuation of the lime market expects a long term growth in the FGD and related markets as a result of the Clean Air rule. Cimprogetti can process all lime applications from the feasibility study to commissioning of the plant on the basis of the end-users needs and requirements, in order to guarantee performing, reliable and user-friendly plants. Thanks to the state of the art technologies available in our headquarters, our skilled and experienced employees can envisage a solution to any request.
